Curriculum Development and Training Intern (2 positions available)

The Curriculum Development Interns will play an integral role in developing and identifying the training initiatives of the College Autism Network (CAN). The interns will develop curricula, materials, and resources for distinct stakeholder audiences. One intern will focus on training for postsecondary administrators and instructors; the other intern will focus on training for autistic students and their advocates. Curriculum Development Interns will also deliver training programs locally and nationally, both in-person and online. The interns will work closely with other team members of CAN to produce training materials that are evidence-based, accessible to all types of learners, and scalable across multiple platforms.

 RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify currently available resources that could be leveraged to support CAN’s efforts
  • Establish learning outcomes for multiple audiences and stakeholders
  • Collect and/or produce resources/materials to support training initiatives
  • Network with campus-based programs and personnel as well as CAN partners to identify specialists in each area to inform training
  • Identify outlets and platforms through which to share and present training materials
  • Create training modules, written primers, and professional development webinars
  • Develop innovative digital curricula for a variety of stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS (Preferred)

The ideal candidates are well organized, tech savvy, and have an eye for detail.

  • Current college student or recent graduate in education, instructional design, learning systems, human resources, or other related fields.
  • Master’s Degree, EdD, and PhD students preferred
  • Experience and/or education related to curriculum design, professional development, or adult learning
  • Experience and or education related to integrated assessment and program evaluation
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, across multiple platforms/mediums
  • Flexibility and comfort balancing multiple tasks at once

COMPENSATION, CREDIT, and WORK CONDITIONS

This volunteer position may be eligible for internship, independent study, and/or Garnet and Gold academic credit. The position requires approximately 10 hours/week, has flexible hours, and can be completed remotely as needed. Initial appointment is for one semester, though we are especially eager to work with interns who foresee potential year-long involvement.
