SUMMARY:College Autism Summit 2025
DESCRIPTION:The College Autism Summit brings together scholars\, practitioners\, administrators\, employers\, and self-advocates to discuss evidence-driven strategies that help support college students with autism and related learning differences. \nJoin us for an in-person event! We are offering a preconference workshop on building or improving a program\, over 30 general sessions\, excellent major speakers\, and too many networking opportunities to count. \nThe Bridges That Connect Us\nHigher education is an environment known for its silos\, a fact that shows itself in the many ways we do not connect with one another. Autism and neurodiversity research and support are similar–talented individuals laboring on their side of the river\, rarely looking across to see what can be learned from others. And we know well the isolation too many autistic people feel when they are left out\, or left behind. \nThe College Autism Summit is an opportunity for those doing this important work to connect with and learn from one another: for researchers and practitioners to inform one another’s work; for self-advocates and allies to engage in transformative dialogue; for employers and college professionals to move their pipelines into alignment. \nThe 2025 College Autism Summit will bring us to Pittsburgh\, a city known for its many (446\, to be exact) bridges. In Pittsburgh\, we will be visually reminded of the core of our work: connecting across experiences\, differences\, and perspectives\, all with two common goals: advancing neurodiversity acceptance and supporting autistic college students as they enter\, move through and depart from college into the lives they want\, and deserve\, to lead. \nWe seek proposals that create and encourage conversations across differences: \n\nWhat questions does research need to answer?\nWhat educational and employment practices make the most difference?\nHow are neurodivergent voices sought and heard?\n\nPlease consider submitting a program proposal that addresses a topic related to the following: \n\nInnovative practices on campus\nPre-college preparation\nWellness and mental health\nAdvocacy for autism and neurodiversity\nWorkforce and post-college preparation and transition\nCreating neuroinclusive employment environments\nResearch and scholarship addressing autism and neurodiversity in college settings and beyond\n\nLearn more on our website!
